Greetings, Marilyn.

What a wonderful photograph. The view and the gate are both marvelous. What detail in that beautiful gate with the vine of thorns and the delicate circular designs.

I envy you, getting to see Israel. I have always wanted to go there.

I have missed talking with you, and plan to catch up more soon.

I hope you and your family have had a wonderful Christmas, and I wish you a very happy new year ahead.

With warmest regards,

Mary Alice

I join the others in praise of this shot, but I'd rename it using "Gateway" somewhere in the title because that's how it feels.

This is a very nice capture Marilyn. I like how the gate is silhouetted against the background.

All my best to you and yours for the New Year, Larry

Thank you, Mary Alice, Jacques, Sylvie, picsonthemove, Eva, Erik, Hank, Anne, and Larry, for visiting this beautiful place. (And, Hank, I hope you approve of the new title. Thanks.)

I took the photo from the modern Church of the Beatitudes, perched on a hill overlooking the Sea of Galilee which shows in the nearby picture but not (or hardly) in this one. According to tradition, the nearby hillside is where Jesus gave his Sermon on the Mount (which begins with the Beatitudes).

Best wishes for the New Year, Marilyn

I love this photo Marilyn. Something about gates lend themselves to interesting photos.
