"Plesiosaur A sea reptile having lived 70 to 75 million years ago reaching a length of 38 feet.
"Mo" was originally found 6 km's N.E. of Ponteix by Bob St. Cyr. Henri Liboiron confirmed the location, and with fellow paleontologist, Tim Tokaryk, quarried the site.
Plesiosaur Dig Site
In February of the 1992, the skull and flipper bones of an underwater prehistoric reptile known as a plesiosaur were discovered on the SW 33-09-11-W3. When the long necked plesiosaur (Elasmosaur), measuring approximately 30-35 feet, was finally excavated during the summer of 1993, it was found to be almost complete with the exception of the tail section which was found a year later. An official of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum estimated the Plesiosaur to be about 70 to 75 Million years old. The dinosaur’s nick-named ‘Mo’, and a replica statue looks over at the town junction on highway #13."
