Actually, this IS an Avro Lancaster, not a B-24 Consolidated Liberator. It was temporarly used for ASW work after the war. In 1976, I repainted the whole exterior of this bird.
Definitely not a Liberator but an Avro Lancaster. Squadrons of these were housed at Greenwoodin late 1945 pending the "Tiger Force" deployment to the Pacific war. Never happened due to Hiroshima and Naghasaki. I was there in 1947 when they rolled the first out to de-arm and refit for later use in Maritime patrol ASW work

This B-24 Liberator is one of the last on display anywhere and is reportedly the last example with repaired battle damage received over Germany.
I've never seen a B-24 in this configuration. Looks a lot more like and early Lancaster?!
