Thanks Steve,

Luck of the draw with the weather. Cold clear day, (last day of December) and wind blowing from the north. Usually it blows the other way.

Let me know next time your'e coming!

Best Wishes Peter

Hi Steve, Thanks for complement, but one major difference here which is nothing to do with photography. I am in Porthmadog area a lot, which means that by laws of averages I'm going to be there on more good days than someone simply having a short holiday there. I climbed Snowdon last autumn, and only got one decent picture (No 15237140, "Crib Goch from Snowdon"). I climbed Cnicht earlier this year and got nothing decent (too misty). Your results from the mountains are much better than mine. You do a lot more walking than I do (7 Ben Nevis easily outranks 4 Snowdon). Nice thing about Panoramio is that we all live in different places, which gives us all different opportunities, which we can share.

In all honesty, this picture was luck. I went to the same place a couple of weeks ago, on a bright sunlit day, and this time the picture didn't work at all, simply because the smoke was blowing the opposite way.

Best Wishes Peter

Hi Peter I love how the smoke is belching to one side of this steam engine, and you can tell this is a Welsh town it's passing through, I'd love to take shots like this, so I'm going to start, Congratulations for your position in the NPC, thank you for the inspiration;))

Warm Wishes, Karen.
