Águas de Moura, means something like Waters of Moorish Woman. This is in the parish of Marateca, in the municipality of Palmela, very close to the northwest boundary of the Alentejo. In this area (Palmela) of Southern Portugal the Moors ruled during several centuries (VIII-XII centuries).
