This is not a Grenadier Guard, they have their buttons in 'ones'. This is an Irish Guard, who have buttons in rows of 'five'. Grenadier's in one's Coldstream's in two's Scott's in three's,and no plume in their bearskin caps Welsh's in four's Irish (as here) in five's

Great pic, however Mr Rotwieler, as a previous Welsh Guardsman, I have to correct YOU !!!! This is a Welsh Guard, who has Five buttons ( Irish 4 ), and the biggest identification for a novice ( Mr Rotwieler ) is the Leak emblem on the collar, which is the Welsh Guards cap badge. I have personally stood at this post and all others at Windsor and all other Royal Palaces and have done 5 troopings of the colour. Once again great pic.

Thanks Mr McGuire for your comment. I deliberately left rotwieler's comments on the board because I wanted to hear from others (ie just like yourself) in the hope that it might elicit some further comment. I'm glad you like the shot and I hope you could pass on to your friend my sincerest gratitude for his allowing me the opportunity of making the shot possible.
