There is no greater compliment of course to be awarded a gold star by another panoramio photographer, I thank you very much indeed for that!
Warm greetings to Sweden from Australia, Paul
Thanks very much! That is such a nice and selfless gesture of yours to compliment a fellow NPC participant; shows that you too don't take it all too serious but enjoy seeing all these interpretations.
Warm greetings to you! But what are you doing up at 1:00 in the morning? :-) Paul
Hello Paul...I am a proper night hawk most evenings...a bad habit I know...Things will revert to normal once the fishing season starts next month...I prefer to be up with the lark, cast off for the early morning tide and quiet placid sea...The east coast North Sea almost always gets choppy as the afternoon sea breezes pick up !!
We are in GMT just now so the time is just after midnight here...and you are right, I don't take these contests too seriously..It's fascinating to view this genre of images all in one place...there are once again, some superb images this month..in particular this shot of yours;>) patano's and taoy's photos are simply splendid too...
Thanks for the feedback Paul ;>)
That's a beautiful part of the world Jim, you're a lucky man. My brother-in-law took me to see Scarborough and Whitby a few years ago. I never posted any of the photos I took there, all seemed to have already been done by others - and better.
As you know Whitby has an affinity with aussies due to the James Cook connection. Great history there.
Yes! thats right Paul..a great affinity..Allthough it is accepted that the intrepid James did not discover Oz..we Whitbyites are very proud of the towns association with Cap'n Cook!!! No doubt one of the most famous of all 18th century navigators!! Did your visit co-incide with the replica ENDEAVOUR ? A memorable occasion for our town. The day she arrived, 250,000 people turned out to watch her enter the harbour...Remembering that the original never returned to Whitby, her home port! It was therefore, a poignant moment as the majestic replica sailed home,,her guns blazing all the way in...The noise was deafening!! The crowds cheered and waved, eager to see her return!!
My trip was a few years later unfortunately, but we watched that occasion here on TV Jim, quite a impressive spectacle.
Your beautiful town is quite notable here! You must come across many of us, I just hope we all behave :-)
You all come across absolutely fine Paul..I have a great bunch of friends from your neck of the woods here in Pano!!
Very nice and special entry for NPC. Good luck Paul. Warm greetings. GGR
