Is it remotely possible that you might have located this shot taking point one hill too much to the West?
Its just that the little squarery sort of bay on the left side of lake on right side of pic looks remarkably like the bay on the map to the East of the position shown ;) ???
Nice shot anyway Keith
It was definately taken from Hallin Fell, which is my type of mountaineering - we were able to drive halfway up and park outside the church in Martindale!
Sorry mate, my map reading cannot be all its cracked up to be! Good job I wasn't walking there I guess. Have a great 2009
The second 'Summit' my 11 yr old and i did!, skida I am going to go back, I think, I'll be dreaming all night!!
BEAUTIFUL PHOTOGRAPHS mate
Ullswater is a spectacular lake and Hallin Fell is just about the right height and position to appreciate it. It was my first "Summit" (2nd and 3rd, too). Thanks Mike.
Good colors, the composition has a good depth of field and good colors, especially for a scan.
Thanks pics. It was taken with my first SLR film camera, a Zenit EM.
That means the seventies ;-)
Bought in the mid seventies and still giving good service in 1983. Then I traded up to an Olympus OM10.
I must be going senile! This photo was taken on a Lubitel twin lens camera on which half of my photos were ruined through forgetting to wind on to the next frame!
It looks like a square picture ;-) I sometimes used a Rolleiflex, but as far as I still remember, you had to wind to ready the trigger
What scanner did you use?
The Lubitel was manual everything and you had to wind on the film and then cock the shutter. In the end I decided it was too "purist" even for me.
The photo was scanned on my Epson DX4400 "duz-it-all" printer, which unfortunately doesn't scan negatives.
Hi skida you aareet marra?
I hope you visit my new gallery, ask the magpie for directions!
Happy EASTER to you and Linda
Hope the weekend is good for you, don't eat too much choccy!
We are both fine, Mike, and looking forward to participating in THIS
gOOD TO HEAR YOURE BOTH WELL, MATES.
hAVVE A GOOD RUN OUT ON sATURDAY, i JUST MIGHT CATCH THE BIKES AT tHE bLAKE, ON THE crazy if the weather is clement!
My sometimes unreliable eyesight may be deceptive here, but is this slightly blurred? I keep focusing on some of the grey rocks which seem a bit fuzzy. Maybe I'm utterly silly, if so I apologise. Nice snap of the mountains in the background though; they complement the scene.
Your eyesight is fine, throzen. The Lubitel was a cheap Russian medium format camera and the lens wasn't too sharp! Thanks for the comments.
