When we arrived in College Fjord it was a wet dank kind of evening. There were only a couple of people beside myself on the deck and we had all just about given up on getting any decent photographs. Just then the captain said quietly over the speaker system that there was a Bald Eagle sat on an Ice Floe about one hundred yards ahead. The Eagle sat there on the ice floe displaying no fear or even deigning to recognise our existence. When the ship got within about twenty five yards of the eagle he gave us one last dismissive glare and took off. This is how I came to shoot the eagle from above.
I know he was hunting for his supper as just before he vanished into the mist he swooped down and caught what looked like a large fish.
