I have lived in Birmingham/Wolverhampton, in the industrial heartland of England, and to escape to the area of the pictures (80km) is a great experience.

The area is called the Peak District and the part where Walton fished would be called the White Peak, due to the limestone. The other part is called the Dark Peak and is acid moorland and can be seen here
