Along the ridge towards Abbot's Castle Hill there is mixed woodland of Oak, Birch, Sycamore and Scots pine, and many foxgloves as can be seen.

I think it was being there at the right time of year. It was the same with Bluebells, the display in New Park Wood near Middleton in Warwickshire went on for a quarter of a mile on both sides of the path.
This is a particularly British scene and there is a movement to conserve the native bluebell woods. The imported Spanish bluebell, common in gardens, may squeeze the native out!
