der See liegt tatsächlich in einer Art Hoch-Kessel zw. Säntis und Hoher Kasten.

Aber die Seen auf den Bergspitzen sind aber auch sowas von extrem selten :-))))

Hallo Bernd, warst wieder fleißig - der See ist übrigens vielleicht nicht gerade selten, aber doch besonders, weil nämlich abflusslos. Das Wasser sickert durch den Fels ins Rheintal, links vom Bild. Und wenn du dich jetzt ganz arg in den Rhodewald links vom Sämtisersee reinzoomst, siehst du das und das. Ciao.

this picture was taken from the 'Hoher Kasten' where they built a new panoramic (turning) restaurant.

Since then the best & nearly 'tourist free' pictures you receive when the cable car stopped running in the evening hours.

No, no, Sandy, to really enjoy to 'spit on the antz-like peoples heads' far below you, you have to climb up on your own hands & feet.

I'm definitely not suffering from vertigo, so i'm fortunately able to take some pictures in positions in which other guys would have probably 'accidentally committed suicide', e.g., by falling off the balcony.

Thanks for sharing these links with me...they are really good...it is a really lovely area with wonderful views....how long does it take you to climb up there....is there a trail that you take ???

you're welcome.

If i remember right, 'on a rough ride' it took us about 1½ hour to get up the 'Hoher Kasten' (~1800m) from Brülisau (~900m).

Then we left toward the Saxer Lücke, down to the Sämtiser See to Wasserauen & back to Brülisau (incl. fabulous vista lunch somewhere on top of a lonely rock, ~7 hours)

There a multiple trials in the whole area, but unfortunately cable cars enable even 'vista killing people' (the ones you won't ask for stepping by side, because you're afraid they could fall on you :-) to reach the beautiful spots hours earlier than us hikers.

But the early evening hours are ours.

Sieht richtig genial aus! Eigentlich total unwirklich - wie aus einem Buch oder in GE, wenn's eine extra gute Auflösung haben! Könntest du da oben sicher als Postkarten um 5 Euronen das Stück verkaufen!!!

Hab ich schon probiert, aber der Reinhold hatte was dagegen :-)
