In Soviet times, this is where women stood in line to get basic groceries. Today, the GUM is a very upper class shopping centre. Facing Req Square and the Kremlin, it is well worth a visit after those two.

And yes, some of my older pictures have gathered quite some hits (even though some of them are not particularly good)... it has a lot to do with the location though.

This one, though, I've always liked and I'm glad you like it too. The interior of this department store is amazing.

Red Square was completely empty this particular night - something unique. As it happened, there was a concert by Phil Collins (I think) the day after and the square had been closed already. Amazing, the enormous square with this lightbulb palace on its side.
