This is one very large ice-skating rink!!

Hi Paula, this is one of these lakes I told you about: caused by the digging of peat and then filling up with water.

I have taken the photo's last Sunday, and it was the ideal weather for skating, dry and sunny, no wind to speak of, and just below freezing. The ice floor four inches thick. In Ankeveen (veen means peat-bog) there were thousands of people on the ice.
