The bridge seems out of character, but bridges such as this are often seen when canals pass over an Estate. In this case it is for Chillington Hall.

The light in this is lovely! Reminds me of the summer to come!

Thanks Paula,

This shot was taken at about 1100 on a hot august day in 2005. It was at the start of a walk and we turned left at the bridge, returning later along the canal from the other direction. We also joined the Staffs and Worcs Canal for a short section where the sun was illuminating another interesting site!

As we turned left at this bridge the path joined a wooded avenue leading from the road to Chillington Hall and along the way I saw a litter of feathers and took some home to make sure it was the bird I thought it might be, and it was one of these lovely chaps.

Nature can be cruel at times.

Regards, Peter
