Sequoyah's 1829 log cabin enclosed in a protective native stone cover building built in 1936 by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) surrounded by a 10 acre park. In 1966, Sequoyah's Cabin was designated a National Historic Landmark. At the museum today Cherokee history and basics of his Syllabary's use are taught, and exhibits and artifacts of early Cherokee life are on display.
An absolutely beautiful place!
I was really impressed with how well preserved the cabin was.
The grounds are so beautiful.
