scml ~ It sounds as though you had such a lot of fun and that is what it is all about ~ sail is so much more peaceful than motor and spinnakers so beautiful when a fleet of racing yachts has em up. The Racoon is an old salt I reckon

Mmmmm...depends what you mean by old...but quite possibly ;)

And yes sail beats motors any day...nothing like have her winged out and running downwind... :)

I think that is why I love my kayak so much...I do love the sound of the water against the hull...and the quiet except for the wind...

Life can be good...can't it ;)

Nick Weall on May 16, 2009

Only in the sense of having some good years of nautical experience behind you that is all ~ and yes the calm of the running before the wind ~ happy days ~ windsurfing was one of my great loves though ~ high wind stuff ~ short board and all that ~ life can be very good ~ it all depends what you are prepared to put into it ~~ and Racoons Rule

Ha are very diplomatic Nick...

I have never done windsurfing...but I think it would be great fun...I like watching these guys out at Yamba who have like parachute kites and short boards and they race across the waves and do unreal jumps...everytime its windy they are out that would be fun :)

How good life is does depend on what you are prepared to put into it....and I think we can usually make a pretty good go of having a good time...I mean...ask any Racoon ;)

Yes kite surfing is probably the ultimate ~ I'd love to have a bash at it, but sense tells me to avoid it at my age and I also have one slightly wonky hand these days which really precludes it, otherwise I'd be out there ~ bugger the age!! Windsurfing is a great challenge and takes quite a time to get to perfection and that too is very satisfying ~ you have to get the entire body working in harmony with the wind and waves. ~ I've never asked a Racoon a thing ~ it seems so intrusive and I've never actually met one anyway!! See ya soon little Racoon :))))))

You know.....someone once told me that getting older was not for the faint hearted....

But I believe we are only as old as we feel...and I think I will always be 25...its a good number ;) and if we are always ready for adventure in will always be good :)

And luckily there will always be things for those of us with some experience in life :) find to do for ways of enjoyment...

And what we can't do we can always photograph ;)

OOh...I am a wise Racoon... ha ha

Nick Weall on May 16, 2009

A silver spoon to that wise Racoon ~ who's wisdom in words is seldom heard ~ but hopefully read and kept in the head ~ and a shot in the park or one in the dark ~ will grace these pages for simply ages

scml on May 16, 2009

Ohh...your a poet :))))))))))))))

Hop under my wing...little grasshopper ;)

Nick Weall on May 16, 2009

I think any poet worthy of the name would wince Sandy :) ~ now no ugly bug songs please little Racoon ~ see ya soon :)
