It makes it look like our winter here in North Carolina! This tree here would not be dead but only waiting for Spring to liven up again... well, most likely anywway. :)
It's been so hot though, Jean, you wouldn't interpret it that way if you were walking in the muggy air, funny the tricks the blue sky and starkness can play though, isn't it? You forget about the heat...
Lovely to hear from you again, Jean, and thanks so much for the funny email. People are so witty, aren't they? :)
Sandy, receiving such lovely comments as this one would make anyone feel good, even if they were not good! Thank you so much!
Claus, I was rather amazed at this sky, too. We do get a lot of colourful skies, but the clouds were seeming to be more vertical than horizontal for a while, and they did look very unusual. My daughter, who was with me was astonished when she looked in the camera screen at this shot as soon as I'd taken it, as she'd not noticed the effect in real life until she saw it on the camera and then had to look again. We had a good walk, but with many stops for me to take yet another picture. Oh dear!
I'm very glad you interpreted the clouds as almost an extension of the tree as well, that's great!
Thanks Guy, I was just about hopping from one foot to another with excitement when I saw how the pictures were turning out, as I looked in the little screen and it was even rather nice in there!
I'm very pleased that you came along and saw this one, as you're so good at catching skies, apart from when birds get in the way, of course.. I bow to the almighty duck and sky catcher.....:) Honestly, I'm so pleased you visited, thanks again,
Conrad, are you really having difficulty with the first ten? I'm so good I keep banging my halo! (NOT!)
In truth, I don't even know the 10 commandments, but if one of them is thou shalt not drink any red wine, then I'm a gonner, although I have refrained from partaking of that particular refreshment for a couple of days now. It is SUCH a good anti oxidant; how am I to resist, long term?:) (Eyebrows were up in that last smiley face although you couldn't tell.)
It does look a rather auspicious sort of tree though, doesn't it? I hadn't thought of it in that way, but yes, if a big deep voice were to eminate from the middle of it, I wouldn't be one bit surprised, now you come to mention it.
Thanks for that extra element of pondering material, Conrad!
It is realy not easy to emagine the heat while we had -18°C last week:-) That´s an other excelent photo. Congratulations.
It is late now, good night:-) Comming back soon, Klaus
Klaus, I'm so surprised at it being so cold. I've never visited Europe in the winter, only from around July to perhaps mid September, so I didn't realize how much colder it can be, compared to the UK!
Thanks so much for visiting,
good night and sleep well,
Sue these temperatures are not usual here. Especially not for such a long time. So it´s good to see these pictures, that gives me hope for the next summer here:-))

This looks great, very nice capture.......perfect title as well.....you are so good :)
Hi Sue, never seen a sky like that. The clouds seem to spread out from a point at the horizon, like branches. And they have such a velvety look.
Best regards, Claus

This is a cool one Sue, the clouds definitely emanate from the tree.
So did you get another set of Ten Commandments from the tree? I hope not, as I'm having difficulties with the first ten!
Thanks Guy, I was just about hopping from one foot to another with excitement when I saw how the pictures were turning out, as I looked in the little screen and it was even rather nice in there!
