Jim with contest we focus on specific photos and we loose some very beautiful ones!!!
Dear Puna, I truly welcome your visit and I so much appreciate your very kind appraisal. Thanks for the big compliment ;>)
What you say is right Georgios, there are so many good photos languishing in the nether regions of all our galleries. It is for that reason I keep my page numbers quite low.
I see little point in having hundreds of photos on dozens of pages. Every now and then I delete them and bring something fresh onto the scene.
Besides, it becomes too hard to manage a large gallery. Too many comments are over-looked and I hate to miss mail!! It happens too, even in my relatively small gallery.
Thanks for your interesting take on the subject
Dear friends, if you have the time, here is a tag to my
And the autumn in Britian.. I´m not writing "fall" as you´re not American :DD
You intrigue me Bibiana ;>) not every one understands that we English are not using the Americanised version of the language!! You do!!
There are many subtle, yet important differences!! I hope that it will always remain so ;>)
I am happy that you spent so much of your time in my gallery!! I have enjoyed all your lovely comments!!
If Panoramio will allow me to add your name to my favourite galleries I am very happy to do so ;>)
Kind regards ;>)
YOu know.. we are studying English as a foreign language.. and we are studying sometimes the differences between the two versions.. But it´s not always easy.. In the pronounciation I think I like more Am.. that is what you are listening for example from songs.. or for example now I´m reading an American book..
But as far the country and the culture is concerned I definitely prefer BRITAIN! I´m old fashiond, and the modern America doesn´t attract me!
You are already among my favourites! :))
Greetings Bibiana I apologise most sincerely for taking so long to respond on your comment ;>))
I enjoyed reading your interesting comments on our language!!
American English, spoken in films, in songs and video recordings has very little colour or dialect compared with our own diverse accents!! This is why the slick, polished sound of American English is spoken so widely!!
Unfortunately, it lacks the humour and character of a language that was spoken by tribal Britain's..Anglo Saxons...of centuries past!! the very reason that sets us apart from most other English speaking nations..
The written word, American or British is almost identical except for spellings, there is no difference!
I admire your desire to learn these nuances in our language and to understand the different cultures and attitudes that separate our two nations!!
Many thanks for your nice comment...
Excellent autumn colours Jim!
The reflections in the water gives great results and make the landscape more impressive.
Best of great capture, Cindy
><((((º> methysmena…---Oh! dear Nelly..how could I have missed your lovely comment so...My humble apologies..This old brick building, once a water powered flour mill, has been converted into plush modern apartments..>What a view they have.. Seals from the North Sea play happily below the weir, picking off the salmon as they arrive to spawn up-stream ;>) Herons, ducks, swallows and beautiful Kingfishers are a common sight and otters often appear. ;>)
cindy555..As you will have gathered, I am very fond of this place Marion..This is such a lovely community, typically a slice of rural England!! Farmers congregate each week to sell their stock at the local mart, The steam trains stop frequently at the quaint little station and the pie shop just up the road, bakes the tastiest pork pies in the kingdom!!
I'm glad you both stopped by
