I don't know where Clason Point comes from, but this building is next door to me, on Central Park West between 105th and 106th Streets. It was built in 1885 as NY's first cancer hospital and recently restored and turned into an apartment complex w. the highrise behind it.

I've lived in the neighborhood almost 30 years and for most of that time this building was vacant. There was always talk, periodically, of tearing it down. Glad it was rescued; it's fabulous. Too bad about the highrise, but I guess the developer had to make money somehow. By the way, the map is wrong. Clason Point is in the Bronx. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clason_point
