Great shot, Richard,
I like it a lot.
Ciao from Italy
So beautiful! Good shot!
Greetings from China
Are those mountains possible to downhill ski, or too dangerous for that?
Best regards from Helsinki, Finland
Greetings Mallu, Thanks for visiting the Rockies and commenting. You can ski anywhere you like in the back country. You have to hike or ski in to the run you want to take. In many cases it is an easy ski in up the drainage and a glide back out. In the peaks at the back of the basin are many extreme skiing opportunities. In some of the couloirs the skiers and snow boarders carry an ice ax in one hand in case they fall. It is amazing scenery. Come try a few turns next winter.
Thank you for your reply!
I think I'm not that good, going down with the ax, uaaah, I would probably just kill me self by trying that ;)
I think I need to stay in easier slopes... But to take pix, in those place, that would be for me!
Never been in Colorado but hopefully some day!!!
Greetings Mallu, There is plenty of easy skiing here in Colorado. If you want to take pictures you just put on the snowshoes and you are set for a great adventure. I am glad you like my winter pictures. Winter is my favorite time of the year.
Superb, Rich, these mountains are so beautiful and you captured them so well!
Greetings Peter, Thanks for the visit and the wonderful comments. We were very lucky to arrive after the snow and before the sun melted it. The scene was so different from what you normally see. I am glad you like it.
Beautiful picture! Very nice! Regards, Alex
Greetings Alex, Thanks for visiting the Glacier Basin and the wonderful comments. I am glad you like the conditions this day. The storm the night before left an amazing dusting of snow on everything up high. Just beautiful.
