Hi William, I guess people don't stop to comment, "Ooh, what a lovely snake". Anyway, congrats firstly on getting a good 'record' shot, but also I like the diagonal dynamic of the composition. Before posting mine I had done a tag search for adder, and then viper, which gave more results, so I had not come across yours. Cheers, Rob

Rob thanks for the link - useful info there. I composed this shot to get the sense of movement across the frame and then decided to get close enough (virtually with 300mm effective focal length) to prevent it being a grey smudge on the grass. Sort of worked I suppose. Anyway, no time to do anything else because it was hot footing (or whatever snakes do) into the nearby heather.
