In spite of the clouded history of the Black Hills from the perspective of Native Americans, I would like to see Franklin Roosevelt's head carved on Mt. Rushmore. He belongs up there and would fit in nicely over on the right. It is stirring to watch the clip from 1941 when he dedicated Jefferson's head: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scOIZje147c
Thank you. But I'd like to see here Sitting Bull, Red Cloud, Chief Joseph and Quanah Parker.
In the best of all possible worlds I would agree with you completely.
I would add Wovoka, Crazy Horse, Tecumseh, Sequoyah, Black Kettle, Dull Knife, Little Wolf Geronimo, Ishi, White Bird, and Ollokot. There are so many brave men who deserve to be remembered.
But, I doubt if any of them would want the Black Hills desecrated with their likenesses. That's what white men do.
:)Exactly! I have no doubt that Crazy Horse would not like that "his" statue over Sacred Black Hills!
