I went to the mall that day intending to purchase a small but specific gift that I had in mind for a special friend. That was all, so I had time to myself, and so I took my camera with me. This is all done with mirrors! Looking in the display windows with the whole world behind me, it seemed perverse to point the camera in one direction and record what was in the other. But it seemed to capture unawares all that was going on in the last hours before Christmas.

Dear Mira,

I was inspired to upload this image by one of your recent images!

And now that I have written the words above, I hope I haven't spoilt it for you, for I have refrained from any comment on my theme. Hope I have the right balance for you.

Warmest regards,

Ian

Dear Ian,

It's like a window on the world. With Christmas decorations giving it life and purpose.

Thanks for your understanding, Mira and Lincluden.

It's dynamic and has some kind of magic... Fine shot!

And as I had my back to the subjects they were not at all aware they were being photographed for the world. It was the magic of the shop windows that drew me to see the mall from a different perspective.

Thanks for the comment Edmundo.

Ha, Ha, world of woman is the right titel. Excellent capture through the window(?).

Greetings, martin

I captured this through the window into the mirror at the back of the display window. I was struck by the urgency of the Christmas shopping - people in full stride. Here Christmas is a season for getting together, but it seems to demand so much that we are walking away from each other with no time to share!

So thanks Martin for enjoying this.

Ian, I stumbled upon this one when I was just browsing the world map! I love the urgency with which the woman is bursting through the doors. I remember bursting through the doors in Sunshine Plaza, among other places just before this Christmas! The baubles are a delicate reminder of the season and I also like those intriguing repeated reflections of people in the background. I'm so pleased I pressed on this thumbnail for now I shall wish you a very Happy and Healthy 2010!

All the best,

Sue

Hi again, Sue.

Again I have enjoyed your analysis of this image, Sue. I guess you have shopped the Queen Street Mall yourself.

Thanks for your greeting and I wish a fulfilling, healthy and peaceful 2010 for you and your family.
