Surely not one of their main airports??

Thought you'd enjoy that one, Guy, LOL. It was pretty amusing, and a sign of sights to come, to be greeted by Starbucks as one exited customs! (If I'd had time, I wanted to do a whole series: Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken, T.G.I.Fridays, and near and dear to the heart of every native born Bostonian: even Dunkin Donuts (far better than any Starbucks coffee or Krispy Kreme Donuts) Maybe next time.

Hi Dianne - this is the current main airport terminal 1 in Abu Dhabi, but there are a couple of other adjacent terminals, including a brand new one to be opening any day now, and a huge new terminal complex being built in a different part of the airport. So this one will be phased out in about 5 years once that comes on line. But in the meanwhile, this current one is being upgraded inside and out. Abu Dhabi is about 45 minutes drive south of Dubai, and many fly into Dubai and drive down the coast, too.

was a stop over 3 hours as i remember in the air terminal on the way home in 82' i have scanned a few of the aerial shots but have to wait to find the rest. i am sure my photos are not longer true as the world moves forward. trying to map some of the slides i see there is more building in places than i remember. i just posted three of the Matterhorn in westernfocus all i am going to put on i have quite a few of the area but posting X wives is not one of them.
