Ah, quand même.

The furniture is not, as I thought, a piano, but the check-in counter Vladimir. That's why I'm laughing my head off :-)

Thanks for Like! Greetings, indri

You're joking - an airport? And it is not selected for GE!

Florentine Vermeiren on February 16, 2011

I'm not joking Daan. I've no idea what it looks like now but that was what we saw when debarking in Ambanja in 1999. Nobody embarked so the check-in counter was deserted. You know what? This is the nearest airport if you want to reach the famous Island of Nosy-Be by Sea.

Of course it is not selected, didn't you see there are humans in the picture!!! If I would have cropped the picture to eliminate these stupid humans from the picture, the entire effect would have been lost. Don't you think so?

My daughter and her husband went to Nosy Be island for their honeymoon. I wonder if they were also at that airport?

Florentine Vermeiren on February 17, 2011

I don't think they have been in Ambanja Daan, the easiest way to go to Nosy-Be is trough Ivato airport and there take a direct flight to Nosy-Be. Some intercontinental flights also used to land in Nosy-Be. We - 4 different people- were accompanied by a starting tour-operator, she searched the cheapest possible ways to realize the tour and eventually we arrived in Ambanja where we took a boat for Nosy-Be, Nosy-Tanikely, Nosy Komba, and back to Ambanja.

You are right: they did not land in Ambanja, but took the easy tourist route.

Florentine Vermeiren on February 21, 2011

Hèhè Daan, honeymoon people don't have time to loose by travelling on bad roads to reach their destination ;-) . It took us 2 days from Ivato to Mahajunga by road, and 1 more day by inland flights to arrive in Ambanja.

You're right indri, I have forgotten those days. By the way, I have seen some beautiful photos of the gerenuk, with their long necks. They really do look like the giraffe. Groetjes, Daan
