What a great photo, I guess they are looking for the water....very different shot. Dianne
Or else they thought 'Oh no, another starving photographer, no chance of food there'.
LOL, maybe a little of both. Along with the big bath tub they all try to fit in out where the swan hangs out, someone seems to have broken a small hole in the ice at the base of the bank, so several birds were playing in that 18" diameter opening. And I went by over the week-end, and it seemed clear that none of these guys are in danger of starving. There's sort of a procession of people who maybe think they're the only ones who feed them. No wonder these guys didn't really beg, or even peck at my legs like I've had ducks there do! I think the ones nibbling out in the snow there are pecking at bird seed and crumbs that's remaining from the last handouts.
They do look pretty fat and sleek. Is someone getting ready to harvest some foie gras?
Well, it did cross my mind that if the economy keeps on the way it's been going......Though not sure which would be first: the collected cans of SPAM...or the geese....
Gorgeous photo, B-n-P! Really lovely! I thought that these guys went South for the winter!
Well, Jean, they once did - they're Canada Geese, so they think they're in the tropics here, and see no reason to leave. Thanks!
Hi Bits, I like the strong perspective, diminishing size of birds, the trampled snow leading to pool and sun. I had thought you had sent Kamaly out on the ice to photo the swan in the pool, but I guess you used 130mm from here. Cheers, Rob
