My first attempt at HDR photography. I just love HDR photos and I discovered that I need a lot of practice and a better camera. By the way, this really was the color of my trees on Jan 2, 2009.
Very beautiful composition, fantastic colours.

Thank you for your kind comments. I am new to Panoramio and I discovered HDR photographs. I love them but I have a lot to learn. I sure enjoy looking at other people's photos. Your gallery is wonderful. Sharon in California
For your first HDR image, this is very good! I too am drawn to HDR imaging. Learned a lot from Ferrell McCollough's book, High Dynamic Range Digital Photography. Most important tips I've learned is always shoot at ISO 100 to reduce grain and manual focus (with AP mode) keeps things sharp. And it doesn't hurt to have a fast continuous shooting mode to click off three images (2 f-stops apart) very quickly. All my HDR images are now done without a tripod - which makes it much more spontaneous. I look forward to seeing more of your HDR efforts! Regards, SirFin
Thanks for your insight. I will order the book at Amazon. I just got a new Canon Rebel XSI that does the bracketing for the +2-2 AE. I have tried it with a tripod and I do agree that the spontaneity is gone. I do have the quick 3 shot which it helps. I do love the art-style of the HDR and will work hard at it. Yours are great. Thanks again for the pep-talk. Sharon
Your Rebel should do just great! Thanks for your kind comments on my HDR efforts too. Oh, one other program that I like a lot is called Viveza by NikSoftware. Allows you to do some great light changes without Photoshop masks and layers. That's what I used to get the great green hue on my cemetery shot. SirFin
Thanks for the link to your yellow tree. I couldn't believe that my tree was that yellow and the tree next to it was really that purple and red. In Southern California the leaves stay on the trees for a very long time. I guess they don't know that it is winter. Anyway, we had a few cold days and the trees did their magic. I love your gallery and am going to spend some quality time looking. Thanks bunches, Sharon
Tree from a fairy tale...:)
Best wishes, Ivanna
Hi Ivanna I could not believe that was the actual color of the trees. It had been very warm this December and in January it got cold for a few days and my trees turned the best colors. I really love the purple on the tree to the right side of the photo. The yellow leaves only stayed on the tree a couple days more than the tree dropped all the leaves. In California we only have about 1 month of no leaves before it starts to leaf out again. Thanks again for the comment and thank you very much for looking at my pictures. Sharon
