Mads Lerche's House: stories of the life at Eastern Funen

Shipping:

Permanent exhibition about Nyborg shipping, shipbuilding, and maritime history. The background is that about 150 ships were build in Nyborg, and about 300 ships were based here in a period of about 300 years.

Popinjay Society:

Items from Nyborg popinjay society. This tradition dates back to 1801.

Toys:

An exhibition of various dolls, mechanical toys as well as sledges and doll's prams.

There is also a collection of toy cars from the 1950s and 1970s. We show an example of a girl's room in the 1930s.

Brewing:

In Denmark we have a long tradition of brewing. The former local brewery Carlsminde began the production of Danish household beer (medium gravity) in Mads Lerche's House.

Fine hats:

Exhibition of old hats and bonnets from various periods.

Cordts:

The artist Carl Cordts was born in Nyborg in 1844. During the 1870s he did litographic drawings for zoological books. Cordts' drawings were greatly admired, and he won prizes at exhibitions.

Prachtig. Groet, Christien.

Hello Anne thank you for your visit and kind comment. There are lots of beautiful old, colourful buildings in Denmark.
