Such a long train! A veritable centipede of carriages, giving such a great 3 dimensional perspective to this shot. I love the way you line up your track corner to corner. it's very satisfying to my eye, to have the track mesh into the angle of the photo, I always think!
This one must be thundering along. Do you have many failed shots of trains passing like this, or are you always a winner with the shutter?
Best wishes to you,
Hi Sue Sorry I have not answered any sooner T have been of line for a while been away for the week end.any way about the Photo it depends on the location some times you pick your place and it looks good but the photo just dose not seem to come off, But this location is not far from my house and its a good shot in both directions although this direction is good on a summer evening.and some times I do make fluff of the Pic Regards Alan
Glad to hear you make the occasional fluff, Alan!
Very best wishes,
Hi Sue Yes I have to confess I do make some mistakes nobody is perfect there`s an old saying the man that never makes a mistake never made anything?? regards Alan
Now that is so true! Wise words indeed, Alan, and I shall continue to enjoy the freedom of clicking away digitally and not having to pay for it to be processed. Isn't it marvelous?
Hi Alan, sue!
Alan, wonderful Steam train shots in the gallery, i found them through Nick w's favs. Just love this bit of Gresley flying through the countryside! Shouldn't be too hard on your self here! Trains aren't easy things to shoot, if there at speed your chances are limited. This is a lovely shot (if you don't mind me say so!) that would just maybe benefit from a closer crop to the train in the foreground! Your stuff is wonderful so love to see more!
Warmest regards from Dublin
Very good too. Voted.
A wonderfull long train in best light. Nothing is disturbing...
Hello Josef This shot was taken about a mile from where I live so not too far to get there. This is an evening departure from Scarborough to York.Regards Alan
