At the north-east tip of Wales. The long sandy beach runs for several miles westwards. The lighthouse warns the shipping that still uses the River Dee estuary, which makes the border of England and Wales here.
Its quite probable that the dunes have receeded since 1959. There are the remains of a large number of abandoned chalets within the dunes, which suggests sand movement
