Hello Ria, I remember this location very well: a train station like a castle, even more decorative than the royal palace.

So, you have been in Amsterdam then. Did you like your visit or stay Kurt? Personally I prefer Rotterdam, but they are not to compare actually. They are both special and have there own charms.

Thanks for your visit and the comments!

Greetings from Ria

Hello Ria, I visited Amsterdam twice and I liked it very much. I remember the architecture of the buildings along the Grachten, the famous museums (van Gogh and Rembrandt), the churches, the flower market, de Waag, the choice of international cuisine all over the city, the thousands of bicycles, and . . . and . . . (in Rotterdam I have only seen part of the commercial harbour/container terminal).

Hi Kurt!

Very nice to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Amsterdam. It's a real touristic place, while Rotterdam is just upcoming in that field. Most attractive is the modern architecture there, the wonderful skyline. But I have lived and worked in Rotterdam for MANY years, so I know it better than A'dam.

Best wishes from Ria
