Old Havana has the same old smells you posted!

I would add to the olfactory experience of the "La Habana Vieja Potpouri" the following:

-intermitant exhaust blasts of gas, diesel and oil burning from every kind of vehicle on the roads,

-a whiff of tobacco (not a disagreeable smell),

-a pinch of sea salt,

-the everpresent molds that impregnate the raw unpainted concrete that your nose detects on passing the dark, damp entrances of apartment dwellings,

-the cooking oil from cronic over-frying of some kind of compsite croquette as you near windows and doorways (croquettes made of some miniscule portion of mystery meat, and the rest raw whey and soy protein fillers. I'm sure I've detected saw dust in some of the croquettes I've sampled!)

-the final additon to the potpourri would be the sensuous scent of agua violetta, perfume or talco coming from the cleanliness obsessed Cuban women!!!
