I love going to the top of Mount Helix in San Diego. On a clear day you can see the Pacific ocean and the islands to the south. If you look real hard you can see Tijuana Mexico. The name of the island group is The Coronados.

'Blummin Heck!' this picture certainly grabs you by the ....when you look at it full size. I know sometimes a little enhancing can ruin a picture but you have really given this some punch -and I like it! Well Done, Herb

Thanks Herb. At first I thought it was a little much but then I noticed the two lovers, which I think gives it a little scale. Also, the islands and the shimmer of the ocean. I should have probably pulled back a bit but... Anyway, thanks bunches. Comments coming from you mean a lot when you see the work you do. Sharon

Hi Caribbean JJ, thanks for the comments. I am pretty new to showing my photos to anyone and it always amazes me that anyone would even care to look. You have a beautiful gallery of sunsets. Thanks for commenting on my picture. Sharon

Just realized, you are just a few degrees off seeing our sailboat..LOL, SirFin

My Father-in-law had a boat at the SD Yacht Club and we would go to eat lunch all the time because if you didn't use the meal allotment you lost them, needless to say, it was nice to go sit at the water and watch the yachts go by. He is gone now but we still get to eat our allotment, just no boat any longer. SirFin, I am sure I can see your boat from the LEFT COAST.

Small world! San Diego was a great place for sailing...and surfing (AKA SirFin) ))

My husband and I learned to scuba there also and he went on to become a commercial diver for the oil companies and has worked since 1972 in that industry and has been all over the world. Me, not so much. I am always the one that stays home and waits for my man to come home from the sea. Anyway, he is now working in the Gulf of Mexico repairing or removing platforms destroyed by the hurricanes. We learned to SCUBA at Bird Rock in La Jolla. It truly is a very small world. Sharon

Went surfing once at Bird Rock but my favorite place was Cardiff-by-the-Sea...it was 23 miles from Coronado to Cardiff and every afternoon after high school I made the drive there to surf. Fond memories...CA I'm sure is now very crowded, it was in 1970! SirFin

California was a totally different place in the 70s. What I wouldn't give to have that California back than the one that is run by the Terminator and a bunch of idiots. Sharon

As Bruce Hornsby said, "that's just the way it is!"
