Il s'agit d'une église catholique situé dans le quartier multiethnique du Mile End (Arrondissement du Plateau-Mont-Royal).

Elle est l'oeuvre de l'architecte Aristide Beaugrand-Champagne et des ingénieurs Charles Michael Morssen et E. Brown. La décoration intérieure est reconnue pour ses peintures, oeuvre de l'artiste québécois d'origine italienne Guido Nincheri.

Cette église est reconnue comme étant exceptionnelle selon le ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec.

L'église Saint-Viateur dont fait référence monsieur Delorme, se retrouve à quelques kilomètres de là, dans l'arrondissement d'Outremont.
