Up until I came upon this scene, I have never realized that I have been away from the Philippines too long. We would have never been able to afford all these trimmings then but, as a little boy, it was pure delight to see all these trees suddenly grow stars among its flowery bloom. Pure Christmas magic it brought to a child. I had totally forgotten that this is what Christmas is like, here in the Philippine Islands.
