I'm sorry to inform you mate but this crater is not Askja but Víti (hell). Askja is much bigger crater but close by. Víti used to be warm as a jacusy but it's gradually cooling down. If you look closely you'll se the sign "Enter Víti at own risk"
Vaya suerte... yo estuve a finales de agosto y la nieve y el barro impedian bajar :-( Pero debe ser un placer bajar y bañarse (a ser posible desnudo!) en el agua tan calentita :-)
