This is the famous Beadle Building just north of Thomas on 3rd Street. Last week they blew out all the windows -- I live right by here and heard one of the loudest rumbles ever... Guess this is what it was.
This building has lain vacant for some time as it was full of asbestos. Local legend has it that the new owners tried to do the demo at 3AM thinking nobody would notice. Notice someone did, a local judge who lives right in the area. She went to investigate and was told "don't worry your pretty little head lady". She was on the phone and called in the cavalry... Now they are doing it the right way, with permits and everything, just takes a long long time. We in the neighbor hood can't wait for the day they fill it with explosives and blow it down!!
