Schüchtern und immer noch etwas ängstlich näherte sich das kleine Entlein den Schwänen und als diese das kleine Entlein bemerkten, nahmen sie es in ihrer Mitte auf und sprachen: "Wir sind Schwäne und du bist einer von uns! Wo hast du nur in all der Zeit gesteckt?" Mit großen erstaunten aber glücklichen Augen blickte der junge Schwan zu seine neuen Kameraden und murmelte: "Das ist eine lange und aufregende Geschichte!"
