Pretty scene! Are you using HDR, or is this just naturally a beautifully lit view?

Completely natural - I don't even know what HDR is!

Well, you've captured it beautifully :-)

Thanks again Bruce da really large ruminant! What is HDR?
Bruce da Moose, on February 17, 2009, said:
Conrad, HDR is a technique, permitted by various software, that takes three images separated by one or more F-stops and combines them in such a way as to more evenly illuminate the various parts of the photo. It is very effective when used properly, and it can also be used to create weird lighting and color effects when used with extreme parameters. You have almost certainly seen them before - Panoramio is loaded with them. If you go to "tags" and type in HDR, you should be able to bring up a gazilion of them.

Ah. It was covered briefly on a photography course I took last year, but since I wasn't interested in Photoshop, I promptly forgot everything. One day I'm sure I'll try it.
Thanks for the explanation - not bad for four stomaches!

Good one Guy....but perhaps da Moose didn't reply because he doesn't have the stomach for it.
