Thanks for all the comments on Scotland. We stayed at Fort William that holiday in 2007.
I wanted to ride on ''The Jocobite ''
I managed to get a good shot of the Glenfinnan Viaduct from the train and it became my first photo put on Google Earth.
Our paths must have crossed at the Barrow Hill Gala 2007.
It was marvellous to see Mayflower and all the others in such immaculate condition.
I remember seeing it at New Street Station in the early sixties when I was a spotter, like yourself.

Love your train photos I used to be a trainspotter back in the40s 50s Mostly LMS, Wigan Area Liverpool We did not know the steam would vanish then Sadly remember all those trains waiting to be scrapped Then your photos bring back Good memorys.THANK YOU.
Hi johngregson I am glad you like the steam and that it brought back some happy memories.I was also a spotter in the 50s mainly at Leeds, Doncaster & Sheffield.There is plenty of steam on my gallery so feel free to brouse Best Wishes Alan
