A male European starling. These are birds we take for granted, because they can be noisy, messy and destructive; especially when they congregate in those flocks they seem to like.

But then when you take a look from close up like this, it's possible to see how pretty their coloration is. Just imagine how bright he becomes in springtime when he's looking for a mate!
