In Balinese Hinduism, God comes to rest on the mountain tops and on the temple pinacles. And as the water flows down to water the land eventually emptying into the sea, so it is with human life. Life is derived from God and is lived between the places where God comes to rest and the sea, which represents death. This is as I have come to understand its essence, and I would value correction.
