There has been a rapid growth in the Hispanic population of the Maryland Eastern Shore (the Delmarva peninsula) since 1990. This store in the rural community of Templeville (using a former gas station) shows strong connections with Mexico in the color of the sign and the eagle and serpent symbol. In the background is a trailer from the Preston 151 Trucking Line, which was based on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and was one of the largest trucking lines in the U.S. until it went out of business in 1999.
