Hi Diggory

Interesting question and I searched for some information that surprised me.

Birmingham is the second largest population in England, being just over 1million in 2009. In the 2001 census 16.8% of the Birmingham population identified themselves as Muslim, and there are currently just over 200 mosques in the city!

This photo was taken near the City centre, as you move to the areas around the mosques you will see many women with their heads covered. There is undoubtably a hard core of fundamentalists in the City.

All the best Peter

Hi Diggory

If you look in the direction the camera is pointing then about a kilometre further is Hockley Hill where you were cruising a couple of days ago!

Regards Peter
