Jesus Love Temple was originally the Milford Theater of the Schine theater chain. According to comments on the Cinema Treasures website, in 1948 this theater replaced one that burned down. With 1,800 seats, it is believed to be the largest theater on the Eastern Shore. (The population of Milford is under 7,000 today.) It closed as a movie theater in 1972.
