Peter Skillcorn standing outside the Dover Sea Angling Association Social Club on the 18th of February, 2009 (click on the photo for a higher resolution image; a full resolution image is available from Peter or myself).

Peter, originally from Middlesborough, has lived in Dover for 40 years and is married to Karen ("Kaz") who is the Commercial Manager for both the Sea Angling Club (as the above is more commonly known) and Bluebirds Restaurant in Snargate Street.

Other members of the club include people I grew up with while living at 81 Clarendon Place during the late 1950s and early 1960s: David ('Dave') Coughlan, Terrence ('Terry') Knott and David ('Dave') Royston (when we often explored such places as the underground tunnels of the Napoleonic defenses on the Western Heights).

The address of the club is 14 Priory Rd, Dover, CT17 9RG, United Kingdom, tel: +44 1304 204722, and it stands some 10 yards along from St. Edmund's chapel which is the only church dedicated by one English saint (St. Richard of Chicester) to another English saint (St. Edmund of Abingdon). Priory Street joins Dover's High Street near the Town Hall and the above photo was taken from Norman Street.

For those who are more interested in the fishing side of things, as opposed to, um, 'socializing' ('hic'), there is also an unofficial Dover Sea Angling Association website which has a number of forums (click here) including those dedicated to the Prince of Wales Pier, the Admiralty Pier, and the Southern Breakwater.

Priory Street joins Dover's High Street near the Town Hall...

It should be Priory Road, not Street.
