Thanks Manoo, your kind words are welcome. Its a she, 200mm @2.8,thats why the shallow DOF,eyes are sharp and the nose is not,I needed the backgroud Soft.

Manoo Mistry on May 2, 2009

You have done a good job here Phil by keeping low depth of field, blurring out the back ground is the only way to high light the main subject. 'cause you focused centrally on her eyes , the length of her face gives that slight unfocused nose. I think that is hardly unnoticed.

Phil Lloyd on May 2, 2009

Too kind Manoo,cheers.

Phil Lloyd on May 9, 2009

I had 6 shots and then she ran away !!

Burloncita on May 9, 2009

And i tell you what.. she did the right thing :P if i were a horse and saw someone clicking the shutter in front of me i would run away definitely) well, unless this someone gave me lots of sugar.. hehe)

Phil Lloyd on May 9, 2009

Fair point :) I shall carry sugar in my pocket from now on,or mints, another thing they like. !

Burloncita on May 9, 2009

Oh, tell me what they do NOT like) Portuguese horses love melon more than anything else..this one gets crazy when you bring a cup of coffee with you.. many years ago in Turkey i met a horse, who was mad with beer)

Phil Lloyd on May 9, 2009

Haha,I dont blay them ! I suppose grass and hay gets a bit boring every day !! Maybe the Turkish horse was a party animal ! :)

Burloncita on May 9, 2009

Hehe) In Turkey the result was quite logical.. the trainer/manager of the stables never, in fact, dealt with horses)) he was a funny guy from Germany, who worked with sanitaryware, if i'm not mistaken.. one day all this made him tired, he took his motorbike and went to Turkey) and accidentally found a job in the stables XD so the horses were very.. humanlike))

Phil Lloyd on May 9, 2009

How hilarious !! so you have travelled quite a lot? Always conected with Horses? :)

Burloncita on May 9, 2009

Well, how to say..) of course everywhere i go, i try to organise stables near my hotel =)
