I've enjoyed your comments and the continued discussion, Bruce, Galishev Palel, Tom, Mike, Clelia, and Nawitka.
Whatever the explanation of the diagonal may be, it was that diagonal that made excited about this view and choose it over all the other possibilities in this fascinating structure.
Lovely geometry in this picture, Marilyn. Very nice. Cheers, Christophe
Thanks, Christophe (and Karen, too, for the disappearing comment)! I do like good geometry in a scene, and I'm glad you do, too. Cheers, Marilyn
As I've seen your photo Marylin, I remembered, I've made a photo of interesting arcs in Spain. Now I've uploaded the photo, maybe you want to have a look Marilyn.
Thank you, Wim and marecki-lysy, and thanks for the link, Wim. Greetings from Canada, Marilyn

Incredible photo, Marilyn!
Very, very late thanks, Fran and Liam.
Excellent composition. I like the diagonal...
Kind regards, Finn
Thanks, Finn, for noticing the diagonal! There's a somewhat similar photo of arches on Panoramio that gets many more comments than this. But it doesn't have the diagonal, and I think that's what "makes" this one.
Best wishes, Marilyn
