Venice is certainly among the world's most famous cities, and that's of course no wonder. Its history has no equal, it's architecture is one of a kind, and its lifestyle is unique.

Yes, it's crowded and expensive and there are lots of tourists. But it's Venice. What more is there to say?

There are only four bridges spanning the Canal Grande, of which the Rialto is without doubt the most famous one. Many designs were considered - including one by Michelangelo himself - but in the end, the winning one was by a Venetian: Antonio da Ponte.

The bridge was completed in 1591, and spans 28.80 meters. Quite the accomplishment for a single-span bridge in that time.

Beautiful shot Justin. You've managed quite well to get great colour saturation and contrast at mid-day. :) Well done. That bridge is amazing.

All the best, Tom

That must have been great Green Irish Eagle to stay in such a hotel in the centre of Venice! We also stayed until late at night in Venice, and it's totally different at night indeed.

Kind regards,

Justin

Like the water, and the unique structure of the bridge. Very nice warm colors of the buildings against the blue sky and the water.
